INDIANAPOLIS — Colts general manager Chris Ballard acknowledged Thursday that a lack of success in 2026 could lead to the end of his decade-long tenure in Indianapolis.
Ballard is headed into the final year of his second contract with the Colts, and when principal owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon was asked about his contract on Monday, she said the two sides haven’t discussed it.

Irsay-Gordon also made a clear point that there is a higher sense of urgency for the Colts in 2026.
“I’ve always felt it,” Ballard said. “I’ve always felt urgency, but there does come a point where Carlie, Kalen and Casey have to do the best thing for the franchise.”
