Meghann Fahy is officially in the BOSS family. The actress, who broke out from The White Lotus to star in back to back projects like Your Monster, The Perfect Couple, Rebuilding, Drop, Sirens and the upcoming The Good Daughter, stars in the fashion house’s new spring/summer campaign highlighting individuals “who embody what it means to ‘be the next.’” She does so alongside actor Corey Mylchreest, K-pop star S.Coups and model Sacha Quenby. In between a fitting and a hair and makeup session, The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Fahy by phone from New York to talk brand deals, the latest White Lotus castings and how she’d spend a day off if she were the boss.
You’ve done some other collaborations, with brands like Tiffany & Co. and Estée Lauder, and I’m curious what you look for in a partner like BOSS before saying yes?
The main thing is alignment. I want to make sure that it matches my values and is a partnership that feels really natural. That’s why I was so excited about BOSS because they do this amazing thing, which is allow women to exist in a masculine space while also having some really feminine pieces, too. That is aligned with who I am and how I move through the world. It feels like a truthful collaboration.

What is your history with BOSS?
Obviously, it’s an elevated brand so I was definitely not wearing it in high school or anything. But I’ve been getting into the fashion space over the last four or five years, and that experience has been really incredible. I’ve learned so much. BOSS has a lot of classic, staple pieces, and I always feel like myself when I’m wearing the clothes. I don’t think anything they make really goes out of style, which is something I look for. Especially since I’ve become an ambassador, I get really, really excited to wear some of the pieces. It’s been really fun.
What was the campaign shoot like?
The shoot was amazing. The set was incredible, it kind of looked like we were in Greece. I loved the palette, which was a lot of neutrals and bright neutrals for spring. The photographer and creative direction were amazing. Everything felt very easy. I wasn’t even thinking about how any of the photos were going to wind up on billboards. I genuinely didn’t know that was going to be the case. I was really happy that throughout the process, it felt really grounded, fun and collaborative. It speaks so much to the way they do business. Such a great team of people.

You’ve been on billboards before. What is that experience like for you?
Pretty crazy, to be honest. It’s definitely an experience I don’t think I’ve ever had quite in that way, especially something that’s fashion forward. It feels very different than any time I’ve seen an ad for a film or project that I’m in. As a little girl, you grow up seeing models on billboard, so seeing myself in that space is quite surreal.
The campaign has some inspirational lines: “Be your own boss, lead and always leave room for others to shine.” What does that mean to you when it comes to your life, your work, your career?
The best way to move through the world is with conviction about the things that you believe in and who you are while being able to maintain that and leave room to learn from other people and to make space for other people to shine in their own way. That, to me, is what I’m always striving to do.
Is there anyone who has done that for you?
I’ve been so lucky. I’ve had so many women who have made that kind of space for me. Julianne Moore always comes to mind. I worked with her on Sirens, and had the best experience ever. I learned so much from watching how she carries herself and moves through her day. I felt really grateful and feel really grateful to have had her and also so many other women over the course of my career who have been incredible role models.
You were in Palm Springs recently celebrating Rose Byrne after working together on The Good Daughter.
Rose is someone who I have loved for as long as I can remember. She’s such a down to earth person, and such a versatile actor. I’ve looked up to her forever, and she did not disappoint. We played sisters and she really does feel like my big sister now, which is really crazy because it’s Rose Byrne.
Let’s talk about a man. You went to the BOSS runway show last year and got to spend some time with another ambassador, David Beckham. How was the show and what was it like to meet him?
It was amazing. He’s incredible and is the kindest, sweetest person with an amazing, cozy energy. He says hello and introduces himself to everyone and remembers who everyone is. I was very impressed. The show was incredible. My favorite thing about BOSS shows is that they present men and women together. I love to see that. The space was incredible with huge ceilings and the music was great. Everything was so much fun, and the models were gorgeous.
You wore this great menswear suit. How did that feel?
BOSS is a brand that’s known for that, and I knew I’d be in good hands. It was the first time I had worn a suit like that. I definitely felt like BOSS is the brand I should be doing that with, and I loved everything about it. I loved the color, the cut, the pinstripes, the tailoring. I love how comfortable the shoes were. It was a really fun moment because it was so different from everything else I’d worn in the past. Anytime you can achieve that, it’s a really fun space to be able to play.
I wanted to ask you about the business of brand deals. You are someone with a considerable following with 1.2 million Instagram followers. And people talk about how much more important these deals are as acting opportunities become more competitive. How do you navigate the business of brand deals and what do they mean to you in terms of the 360-degree view of your career?
Ultimately, I’m somebody who is very motivated by my intuition, my gut feeling. I feel very lucky that I’ve been able to really be connected to that for most of my career, especially as I got a bit older into my 30s. It’s easier to connect to, and that has been my guiding force. I have an amazing team of people around me that I really trust, and they all have great taste so that really helps. When I’m deciding or thinking about what’s next, I am really ruled by that intuition and the rest of it falls into place. I have never really stressed about the business side of things. It’s not really how my brain works and that can be great and that can be not great, but that is how I do things.

I was preparing to speak to you this morning when I got a news alert about more castings on the next season of The White Lotus …
I just saw that in the car on the way here.
It’s Max Greenfield, Kumail Nanjiani, Chloe Bennett, Charlie Hall and a few others. When a new cycle heats eat up, are you paying attention?
I’ve always been a fan of the show and that was true before I was lucky enough to be a part of it. I’m always excited about it. I’m always rooting for everybody who’s about to embark on their experience because it’s such a singular, amazing opportunity. I’m just a fan. I see the posts here and there about who’s joined the cast and I’m so excited. It’s shaping up to be really amazing. I just can’t wait to see what they do this next season because each season has its own distinct theme and I love that about the show.
Last question, back to BOSS: If you were going to be your own boss for a day, what do you do?
Right now I’m in a real period of rest. I’m taking some time off, which has been really good for me. Honestly, I would tell myself to just sit on the couch and watch a show from beginning to end and order my favorite kind of food for dinner. That sounds like the perfect day to me right now. That’s a really boring answer and you’re not going to want to put that in the article. So another answer is I would find a beach somewhere and a really good book, and I would go sit on the beach and I drink rosé and read the book all day long. Then go snorkeling.
