One person died in a fire Saturday night that spread through the second floor of a Glenwood condominium unit. Frankie Thomas, 64, was killed, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, while neighbors in adjoining units were displaced. Glenwood firefighters were called at about 5 p.m. to the 900 block of East 194th Street, said Steve Patterson, a village spokesperson. Firefighters found the second floor of the three-story unit engulfed in flames. Patterson said the village contacted the Red Cross to assist the displaced residents and the fire remains under investigation. ostevens@chicagotribune.com
