After years of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf not being able to finalize a merger, some players have started to make their own moves.
Brooks Koepka has agreed to rejoin the the PGA Tour after a multi-year stint with Saudi-backed LIV Golf. Koepka, who famously said he bolted for LIV in 2022 for a big payday, will be able to rejoin the PGA Tour, but not without some punishments. Koepka and other potential LIV departures look to be rejoining the PGA due to the ongoing uncertainty over the proposed LIV-PGA merger, and to compete regularly against the world’s best players on the PGA Tour’s most prestigious events.
