Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have ventured into yet another new role, swapping the director’s box for the commentary booth. To celebrate five years as owners, they called their team’s all-Welsh clash against Swansea City in the English Championship at the Racecourse Ground, where the hosts won 2-0.
The news was announced days before the match, as they teamed up with Sky Sports presenter David Prutton for an alternative broadcast titled “Live From Wrexham with Rob & Ryan.” The show promised a “unique matchday experience,” featuring unscripted analysis and real-time reactions throughout the game.

Speaking before kickoff, Reynolds and Mac admitted they were “terrified” ahead of the broadcast, though they said they were “kind of taking it seriously” in an effort to deliver the standard viewers expect when watching a match.

During the game, however, the pair added a bit of banter — and some flexing — like telling the story about how former England player and current Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham FaceTimed the duo during Wrexham’s FA Cup loss against Chelsea. The moment also included jokes about how uncomfortably close the microphones were in the commentary booth.

The banter continued as Reynolds joked that he and Mac had even considered holding a clinic on “flopping” to help their team.

And finally, they got their wish of calling a goal when Nathan Broadhead scored the opener in the 25th minute and again in the 88th minute when Liam Cullen’s own goal gave all three points to the hosts.
