Headliners include Saba, Hope Tala, Mark William Lewis, Sango, Tyler ICU and DJ Habibeats, joined by a broad mix of rising and international acts representing cross‑genre sounds (see the concert poster below). Designed as an independently funded, community‑driven event, Sounds That Move brings together artists and venues for three days of panels, workshops, live showcases and late‑night club programming, creating what it describes as a “decentralized alternative to traditional single-site festivals.”
Set on a dead‑end block now recognized as one of NYC’s densest nightlife corridors, the festival activates five independent venues: 99 Scott, Brooklyn Roots Collective, Silo, Honey’s and Chocolate Factory. Programming spans indie and alternative showcases and global club nights celebrating diverse cultural expressions. Alongside artist programming, the festival will feature curated showcases from partners including Pigeons & Planes, Indie Hourzz, The Digilogue, Grey Area and That Good Sh*t, with more collaborators to be announced.
Sounds That Move will transform Scott Avenue into a fully immersive festival environment, welcoming an estimated 23,000 attendees across three days. Festival wristbands and individual event tickets (found here) will grant access to daytime programming and participating venues throughout the corridor.
Founder Al Damashek says the goal is to create a festival that feels “curated, community‑driven, and rooted in New York,” leveraging the unique concentration of Bushwick’s venues to “bring the city together in one place – artists, media, venues, and fans – all moving through the same space.”
