Quarterback Bryce Young and the rest of the Carolina Panthers won’t take the field for another four months, but competing in the NFL is a 365-days-a-year kind of commitment.
Fans should be relieved to hear that their QB1 and three of his top wide receivers are not slacking this offseason. Here’s a look at Young putting in a recent throwing session with 2025 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan, Xavier Legette and Jimmy Horn Jr.:
McMillan wound up leading the Panthers with 70 catches, 1,014 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last season. However, the rest of the wideout room did very little to augment that production—as no other receiver managed more than 394 yards or three touchdowns.

Legette’s numbers were the most troubling. After an up-and-down rookie campaign, the 2024 first-round pick posted just 363 yards and three scores—looking even worse, in some ways, than in his first year.
Horn was inactive for much of the early part of his rookie season, but he impressed when he finally was given some targets later on. Head coach Dave Canales would be wise to integrate him more offensively, especially given the lackluster work from Legette.
And based off some recent odds, perhaps there’ll be another pass catcher set to join the group after the upcoming draft . . .
