The San Francisco 49ers made their second re-signing of the week on Saturday, as they inked kicker Eddy Pineiro to a four-year, $16 million extension that ties him to the team through the 2029 season.
After the news broke, Pineiro took to social media to share his reaction to the contract.

“First and foremost, all glory to God. None of this is possible without Him,” Pineiro wrote. “I’m incredibly thankful to the coaches and the entire organization for believing in me and trusting me to continue this journey with you.
“Signing this contract means the world to me and my family. To the fans – thank you for the constant support and love. The work continues.”
The 30-year-old made 29 of his 29 field goal attempts and 34 of his 38 extra points in the 2025 season after joining the team in Week 2. Now, he’ll have an opportunity to make kicks for San Francisco for a long time.
